Idols of Hindu Deities that were stolen from India around four decades back will be reaching to where they belong, i.e, India very soon.

Going into detail, Idols of Hindu deities- Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana that belong to the fifteenth-century will be handed over to Indian by the UnitedKingdom.

It is believed that the idols of  Hindu deities were stolen from a temple in Tamil Nadu in 1978. The temple was built by the Vijayanagara kings during their regime.

Back in August 2019, The development came after the India Pride Project informed the Indian High Commission in London that four idols Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, and Hamman were stolen from India.

The Art and Antique Unit of the London's Metropolitan Police then looked into the investigation reports to confirm that the idols were stolen from the temple.

As the vendor of the antique idols is no more, without investigation the idols were handed over to Indian High Commission in  London.

The process to hand over the antique idols to the Tamilnadu government is underway.
