India Witnessed A Record Fresh Infections With Over 96,000 Cases

In a shocking development, India yet again reported the record single-day Coronavirus infections in a single day with over 96,000 fresh cases and the case tally surpassed 45 lakh-mark.

In the last 24 hours, India reported 96,551 fresh pandemic infections. With this, the total infections of the ongoing pandemic rose to a whopping 45,62,414.

Going by the data released by the Union Health Ministry, the total recoveries which have been increasing gradually rose to 34,71,783. This translates to a recovery rate of 77.76 percent, while the active cases stood at 9,19,018.

In the last 24 hours, India reported 1,209 fatalities taking the total fatalities to 76,271 with a mortality rate of 1.67 percent. This is the highest spike in fatalities in India so far.

Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh are the worst-hit states in the country. These states account for over 60 percent of the total cases.

Telangana reported 2,426 fresh cases in a single day taking the toll of the total cases to 1,52,602. So far, 940 patients succumbed to the dreaded virus in the state.

Andhra Pradesh added 10175 fresh cases and the total pandemic cases mounted to 5,76,687. While 4,35,647 patients managed to recover from the virus, there are 97,338 active cases.

As many as 28,313,390 patients were diagnosed with the ongoing pandemic globally.  So far, 20,326,137 patients have been recovered from the virus, while 913,090 patients succumbed to the disease.
