India Yet Again Reported Over 96,000 Fresh Infections

Day after breaching the 51 lakh mark, India yet again reported over 96,000 fresh Coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours. This is the second-highest spike of cases in a single day.

Going by the data issued by the Union Health Ministry, India witnessed as many as 96,424 fresh infections in the past 24 hours taking the toll of the total cases to 5,214,677.

India straightaway reported over 90,000 fresh infections for a week, which resulted in the Coronavirus caseload in India increasing at once. Over the week, India added more than 6 lakh new infections.

The fresh fatalities in connection with the ongoing pandemic continue to increase daily as 1,174 patients breathed their last breath, battling the virus in the last 24 hours. So far,  84,372 patients succumbed to the virus in the country.

On a brighter note, a total of 87,472 patients managed to recover from the respiratory disease in the last 24 hours and the total recoveries zoomed to 4,112,55.

The recovery rate of pandemic patients in the country mounted to a whopping 78.86 percent, while the active cases of coronavirus in the country stood at 10,17,754.

Andhra Pradesh witnessed 8,702 fresh Coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours and the total cases in the state zoomed to 6,01,462. 5,177 patients lost their lives to the virus so far.

Telangana added 2,043 new infections in the last 24 hours. With this, the total cases in Telangana rose to 1,67,046. Including 11 fresh fatalities, total casualties zoomed to 1016.

Looking at the global scenario,  as many as  30,333,687 patients were diagnosed with respiratory disease. 22,019,308  patients have been recovered from the virus so far, while 950,132 patients succumbed to the virus.
