How much Indian Govt spends on each MP?

Indian Government has Rs 176 crore to the 543 Lok Sabha MPs in salaries and other expenses over the last one year. On an average, About 2.7 lakh has been spent a month for each MP.

Usually, A Member of Parliament receives Rs 50,000 as salary, Rs 45,000 as constituency allowance, Rs 30,000 for secretarial assistance and Rs 15,000 as office expenses. Whenever there is Parliament session, Each Member is entitled to daily allowance of Rs 2,000.

Indian MPs are also entitled to Free Housing, Water, Electricity, Medical Treatment and Telephone Facilities.

A reimbursement for 34 flight travels for an year and free rail/road travels are the other benefits MPs could utilize. As much as Rs 83 crore for the last one year has been spend in the form of travel reimbursements and daily allowances.
