Foreigners have been facing lot of issues after the sudden announcement of demonetization. Many of them were stranded at the Airports close to the tourist destinations in the country.
A Foreign Lady was supposed to pay additional Rs 1,600 due to the excess luggage. She, however, had only Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. Post November 8th, Indigo Airlines stopped accepting banned currency. Nobody bothered to care even though she requested many people to offer change or new notes.
Looking her shed tears, A Man offered her new currency note of Rs 2000 denomination. Finally, Indigo Airlines has accepted the note from the foreigner.
This incident which took place on November 10th at Goa Airport was brought to light by Bihar Deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav. To say even foreigners were affected by note ban, He shared this story and asked Centre to address the issues of the people.
