Indian Jails not good for Me: Vijay Mallya

Vijay Mallya brought a new excuse to evade extradition by the India Authorities from London. The Liquor Baron informed a court in UK that he couldn't return to India as the prisons in the country aren't up to the International standards.

However, Mumbai Prison Authorities has dismissed the claims of Vijay Mallya. The report they submitted to Home Ministry, listing the facilities provided in the prison, was produced in the UK Court.

Addition DGP & Inspector General of Prisons informed, Vijay Mallya will be lodged in a high security cell in Barrack No 12 at Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. Necessary medial care will be provided to Mallya inside the prison. Four Doctors will be available round the clock to treat the inmates. Reputed JJ Hospital is just 2 km away from the Arthur Road Jail.

Mallya is wanted in the case related to to default on loans worth around Rs 9,000 crore. He fled to UK to escape arrest after banks had named him as wilful defaulter.
