Indian player highlights the role Dhoni played behind the stumps!

There is a big change in Team Indias performance in the recently concluded ODI series against South Africa and Indias previous tour of South Africa. The difference had raised many questions among the fans and experts as Men in Blue faced a whitewash in the hands of Proteas.

While India was crushed by South Africa by 3-0 Team India had won the ODI series against South Africa in 2018 with a margin of 3-1. But things have changed rapidly and suffered backtoback defeats in the ODI series and the Test series as well.

As when Indian fans are unable to digest the notsogood performance of the Indian team Indias Dinesh Karthik gave his observation on the change in team Indias performance and said that one factor has to be blamed for what had happened in South Africa.

Dinesh Karthik felt that one element that is missing is the absence of former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Drawing a comparison between the two series Dinesh Karthik highlighted the role played by spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav in taking wickets at regular intervals.

The wicketkeeper batsman had shed light on how Dhoni used to guide the spinners resulting in them getting wickets. He also said that despite not being the skipper MS Dhoni used to give suggestions on making changes in the field set up and what delivery to bowl was missing in the recent series.

Dinesh Karthik had highlighted how Mahendra Singh Dhoni brings the best out of the bowlers with his suggestions. Giving the example of Ravindra Jadeja Karthik said his performance changes when he joins the CSK camp because of Dhoni.

Well there is nothing wrong with what Dinesh Karthik said. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is quite quick behind the stumps and with his unique approach of reading the game he advises bowlers which reduces the work of bowlers.

The same factor has been missing since Dhoni left his captaincy. Pant and KL Rahul are doing well in wicket keeping. But it will take some more time for them to fit into the shoes of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and take forward his legacy.
