The American NewsPaper New York Times had come up with an interesting story about how the Indians are thriving in the United States at a faster rate compared to the local Americans.
According to the findings of the Newspaper, the Indians residing in the United States are the highest earning community among the Asians. On average, Indians record as much as $123,700.
Their income average is not only the highest among Asians but also higher than the Americans. In terms of college education as well, Indians are ahead than others, the newspaper said.
While Indians earn $123,700, the Taiwanese and Filipinos nationals in the United States have recorded the second and third highest earnings with USD 97,129 and USD 95,000 respectively.
On the other hand,the Chinese and Japanese communities stood at fourth and fifth positions with an income of $ 85,229 and $ 84,068 respectively.
As part of its analysis, the New York Times in its report opined that, the main reason behind Indians topping the list of communities with the high income is that they are working in various sectors that offer good packages and benefits.
Be it Doctors, Financial related jobs, Computer Science and medical sector, Indians are working in these sectors and earning well, the report added.
The report says, the United States has an Indian population of around four million. While 1.6 million of them are visa holders, the United States has around 1.4 million naturalised citizens,followed by the citizens who were born in the United States. The US born Indian citizens comprise around one million.
