Death Toll of Patna Express rises to 107

As many as 107 passengers of Indore-Patna Express got killed after 14 coaches had derailed at 3 AM on Sunday. More than 226 others suffered serious to minor injuries.

Reportedly, Four Coaches S1,S2,S3, S4 were badly damaged. Several passengers were trapped in the damaged coaches.

Officials say the death toll might increase further as rescue operation is still continuing. Close to 200 injured passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals. More than 250 cops have been taking part in the rescue operation.

PM Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu ordered for a probe into the tragedy. He announced ex-gratia of Rs 3.5 lakh to the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for those grievously injured.
