The Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing body is gearing up to host the Mega Auction ahead of the upcoming edition of the tournament. The IT hub of India, Bengaluru is said to be the venue for the auction as the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) is making steps for the same.

The mega auction where the team will get to pick players from the pool of close to 600 players will go on for two days, February 12 and 13. From the pool, one player had made many heads turn at him.

36-year-old Indian Cricketer Manoj Tiwari made himself available for the auction. What makes this a surprise is that he is an MLA and serving as a Sports Minister in West Bengal.

As he was not purchased by any teams in the previous auction where he quoted a base price of Rs 1 crore, Manoj Tiwari had reduced his base price to Rs 50 lakh. The main question here is, whether any team prefers him in the auction.

The last time he was part of the IPL was back in 2018. After Punjab Kings bought him for Rs 1 crore, he played for the team. However, he could not make any notable performance in the tournament.

Manoj Tiwari had started his political career last year. When West Bengal went for the general elections, he joined the TMC and contested the elections. Having won as the MLA, he was made the Cabinet Minister.
