Following a tip-off, police conducted a raid and successfully busted a cricket betting gang and arrested four bookies and fourteen punters in Machilipatnam of Andhra Pradesh, reportedly.
According to the media reports, the betting racket was caught red-handed. A sum of Rs 6,45,000 and 17 Mobile Phones, Television, and other equipment have been seized from the suspects.
In another incident, a betting racket was busted in Chittor. While the main suspect was believed to have fled, six suspects have been arrested and sent to the local Police Station.
The ongoing 13th edition of the Indian Premier League(IPL) which is being held at the Middle East Country United Arab Emirates(UAE) gave rise to the betting events across the country.
