IRCTC is keen on operating a seven-star super luxury Maharaja Express through Telangana State in the near future.
On Wednesday, IRCTC CMD AK Manocha discussed about the proposal of expanding the operations of the Maharaja Train to the youngest State with Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) Chairman Pervaram Ramulu. Maharaja Express is dubbed as World's Most Expensive Luxury Train to be introduced in Southern India from next year. The train offers unlimited food and wine apart from halts at tourist destinations. The dishes include Indian, Chinese, Continental, Mughalai and Thai.
TSTDC even placed the proposal of running three-star luxury trains from Secunderabad to Shirdi, Goa and Tirupati with tariff similar to bus fares. Even this demand got approved by IRCTC.
