In a shocking development, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer committed suicide by drinking acid reportedly. The news broke after the body of the 56-year-old officer was found in his car.
The deceased is the second officer from the income tax department to commit suicide in the past couple of weeks.
Though a suicide letter was found in his car, an investigation is underway in this case. Reportedly, he lost his life with the spread of the virus and fearing that he might transmit the virus to his family.
A few days ago, the officer underwent the tests to detect the virus and tested negative for the pandemic. Despite being tested for the disease he ended his life with the apprehension of the virus.
Last month, 1988-batch IRS officer Keshav Saxena ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling at his residence in the national capital Delhi. He was working as a principal commissioner with the IT department.
