Is Butta Renuka, who has fallen from grace in the YSRCP, making a comeback? According to highly placed sources, YSRCP chief and CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning to make Butta Renuka the MP candidate from Kurnool Lok Sabha constituency.
Butta Renuka, known to be a personal friend of YS Bharathi, was given the ticket in 2014.But, soon after winning the MP seat, she did a somersault and joined the TDP. As a TDP MP, she attacked the YSRCP left, right and centre. But, towards the end of her term, she found that the TDP was not going to give her a ticket. So, she jumped into the YSRCP again. But, Jagan did not give her the party ticket. He also kept her without any party post.
But, now it appears things have changed a bit in Kurnool. Sanjeev Kumar, the MP from Kurnool, is quite inactive. He has not been meeting the people. He has not done much to strengthen the party organisationally. As a result, YS Jagan wants to change the candidate for 2024. As per Jaganâs scheme of things, Kurnool should go to a BC candidate. Butta Renuka being a BC from the weaver community, he felt that Renuka would be the right candidate.
If sources are to be believed, he has already hinted Renuka that she should start preparing for 2024. Renuka is an educationist and entrepreneur. She has a slew of companies and runs a prestigious school in Hyderabad. Her husband too is a politician.
