Is firebrand anti-TRS activist Teenmar Mallanna turning a new page in his career? Is he coming closer to the ruling TRS, which he reveled in calling names? Is he planning to mend fences with the TRS and KCR whom he had criticized to no end? If his speech at Gajwel recently is an indication, then he is definitely moving in that direction.
The other day, speaking at Gajwel, he said that he would from now on stop criticizing KCR and KTR. Not just that. He said he would be happy if either Balka Suman or Gyadari Kishore is made a minister in the TRS government. He said either of them should be made the minister for education. These comments are a departure from his fire-spitting criticism of the TRS.
Teenmaar Mallanna, who is currently in the BJP (he has not yet submitted his resignation from the party), has recently said that he would never ever set his foot into the BJP office. He has recently joined the BJP in New Delhi and said he would wage a relentless battle against the TRS misrule. However, he has stopped attending the BJP programmes of late and recently announced that he would never go to the BJP office again.
Mallanna, who shot into fame for his political comedy show on V6 TV channel, has contested in the Karimnagar-Warangal- Khammam graduates MLC constituency. He stood second in the contest, piping past both Congress, BJP and even Prof. Kodandaram. Later, he joined the BJP. But, his interest in BJP appears to have waned.
Of late, he is making gestures to the TRS that could be bracketed as conciliatory. Why this change of heart? There are no immediate answers. One needs to wait and watch how things unfold.
