Update: 2022-05-15 13:30 GMT
Is veteran politician, art connoisseur, film maker and entrepreneur T Subbarami Reddy planning to join the YSRCP and enter into Rajya Sabha as the YSRCP nominee? Highly placed sources say – yes. Of late, Subbarami Reddy is said to be in touch with YSRCP leaders and is said to be lobbying hard for a Rajya Sabha seat.

In fact, Subbarami Reddy tried for a Rajya Sabha seat in 2020. But, by then it was too late and Jagan had already announced his candidates. So, he had to go back empty handed. But now, he is said to be making his moves quite early. Recently when he went to Vizag, he got a red carpet welcome from the YSRCP.

Interestingly, Subbarami Reddy has not been in touch with the Congress Party for quite some time. Even otherwise, the Congress is in a somnolent position in Andhra Pradesh securing no more than 1 per cent votes. Hence, he has not been active in the affairs of the Congress Party. He did not even get an invite for the Congress Party's Chintan Shivir in Rajasthan's Udaipur.

Sources say that the he is eyeing a Rajya Sabha seat this time. While there are four seats, one of them is for party general secretary Vijaya Sai Reddy. The other two are said to be for Jagan's lawyer Niranjan Reddy and Beeda Mastan Rao. The fourth seat could go to T Subbarami Reddy. He was twice Lok Sabha MP and thrice Rajya Sabha MP.
