Ambitious women have rocked many a boat. Their ambition blinds them to realities and makes them force their decisions on others. We have the stories of Shakespearian Lady Macbeth who forces her decisions on others. Sources in Shiv Sena say that Uddhav Thackeray's wife Rashmi Thackeray's ambition and strong desire to make her son Aditha Thackeray the CM of Maharashtra are chiefly responsible for the breakup between Shiv Sena and BJP. She is said to have even addressed the Shiv Sena MLAs when they were kept in the resort and explained to them as to why her son Aditya should become the CM.
Sources say that the late night meeting between NCP's Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena bosses Uddhav and Aditya Thackeray too was planned by Rashmi Thackeray. It was only at her instance that Aditya Thackeray accompanied his father Uddhav to the meeting. She strongly feels that Aditya has the verve and the panache to become the CM of Maharashtra.
Sources also say that more than party president Uddhav Thackeray, it is Rashmi Thackeray's word that is deemed final. She is said to get involved in taking most decisions at the top level. Party sources say that she wields lot of influence in the party hierarcy. If Aditya becomes CM, the credit should go only to her. But, if the Shiv Sena is doomed, the responsibility is entirely hers," says a prominent Shiv Sena leader on condition of anonymity.
