Batting Maestro Sachin Tendulkar paid tributes to former Australian Test Skipper and Legendary Commentator Richie Benaud who died on Friday at the age of 84.

Sachin: "RIPRichie Wonderful personality who was always warm and encouraging. Had great insights on the game...fondly remember our discussion on the art of leg spin along with Shane Warne in Sharjah. Last spoke to him late last year. Was not well but full of enthusiasm. Great loss to the world of cricket. Heartfelt condolences to Richie's family and friends".

Richie Benaud had met with a major car accident in 2013 but survived. He is said to be battling skin cancer for sometime now and breathed his last in a peaceful manner while asleep last night.

Notably, Benaud was the first cricketer to score 2,000 Test Runs and also to claim 200 Test  Wickets. He played 63 Test Matches in his glorious career. He retired after scoring 2,201 runs at an average of 24.45 and took 248 wickets at an average of 27.03. His highest individual score has been 122.
