It is known that the ruling YSRCP took a sensational decision to change the name of the NTR Health University to YSR Health University. Despite massive criticism, YCP did not take a backstep and went ahead with the decision. Now the new name came into existence as per the Gazette Notification issued.
YCP has a total majority in the Assembly House and the bill to change the name of the university was passed without any issues. Following the procedure, the bill was sent to Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan. With the Governor giving his nod the bill became an act and the new name came into existence.
The Gazette Notification issued by the Andhra Pradesh government said that the Governor cleared the bill and the new bill came into existence. This says that the new name is effective now. The orders saying the same were issued in the name of Principal Secretary Krishna Babu.
YS Jagan was adamant about changing the name of the university saying that it would be appropriate to name the University after YSR as he brought many schemes in the medical field which benefited the common people. No matter what the opposition parties said Jagan went ahead. Now Jagan achieved what he wanted with the university name.
Though Jagan said his father introduced many schemes like 108 ambulances, Former Satyam Computer chairman B. Ramalinga Raju was the one who pitched the idea to have a dedicated service for ambulances.
Keeping the debate aside Jagan is in power and has all the strength to pass the bill. The bill was introduced in the Assembly House on the 21st of September and was passed. Now the bill became an act with the Governor giving his nod for the same.
