Media Houses which create false stories out of favouritism to certain political parties or due to desperation for higher TRPs won't go unpunished from now onwards. YCP Government took a firm decision to prevent baseless news items that mislead the public.
Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Minister Perni Nani moved a proposal targeting Yellow Media in the recent cabinet meeting and it received unanimous acceptance. This move is more like a revival of the Government Order issued by then YSR Government in 2007 to entrust Secretary-Rank Officials the powers to sue media houses telecasting false stories. Already, Restrictions has been imposed on ABN Andhrajyothi and TV5 in Andhra Pradesh. Latest development indicates Pro-TDP Media will have a tough time ahead.
YCP Leadership is of the feeling that a section of Media hasn't been giving the AP Government-headed by YS Jaganmohan Reddy due credit inspite of implementing many revolutionary decisions in just 100 days period. Ruling Party have a reason to worry because minor shortcomings has been glorified by few media houses. Latest move by YCP Government will make Media Houses report in a much more responsible manner.
