Jagan's internal survey makes MLAs, MPs jittery

Update: 2021-09-23 12:23 GMT
Fresh out of the MPTC and ZPTC elections, YS Jagan and his team are on Cloud Nine. They have scored a stunning victory and have nearly put the TDP on the mat. The Tirupati bypoll result too has gone in YSRCP's favour. But YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is not one to rest on his laurels. He has already begun preparations for the next assembly elections.

Known to be extremely alert about public mood, Jagan is said to be undertaking an internal survey to understand the public mood about the MLAs, ministers and MPs. Several key leaders, locally elected nominated members, board directors and party functionaries have been getting SMSs and recorded phone calls enquiring about the performance of the sitting MLAs and MPs of the ruling party.  Questions are reportedly being asked about the delivery of the welfare schemes.

Sources say the people are in general happy about the welfare schemes and their implementation. But, there are questions about the accessibility of the MLAs and MPs. In most cases, there is negative feedback about the MPs. Most of them are accused of being non accessible. Sources reveal that Jagan will take into account the details of the survey and then decide on the candidates.

However, the survey is said to be causing disquiet among the elected people's representatives. They feel that the YSRCP would find the going tough if it ignores the elected MLAs and MPs. They feel the MLAs, MPs, MPTCs and ZPTCs form the backbone of the YSRCP support base and sidelining them would prove very costly for the party. Let's wait and see how things unfold.
