After Vizag seer's admonition, Jagan set to make Brahmin Corporation independent again
It appears that AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is having a rethink on the issue of including the Brahmin Corporation into the BC welfare department. He is said to be contemplating to make Brahmin Corporation an independent entity again. A GO is likely to be issued soon.
YS Jagan's decision to include the Brahmin Corporation in the BC welfare department has caused disquiet among the Brahmins and the community has opposed this move tooth and nail. Some have even talked of launching agitations also. Meanwhile, Swami Swaroopananda of Vizag Sharada Peetham, considered quite close to YS Jagan, too has taken exception to the move. He is said to have announced that he would soon talk to YS Jagan on the issue.
As a result, the government has now decided to rescind the decision. However, it wants to issue a notification after chief secretary Adityanath Das superannuates. He is of the opinion that since the GO to include Brahmin Corporation was signed by Das, it would be rescinded after he retires.
Sources say that the Brahmin Corporation was constituted by Chandrababu Naidu and was originally kept under the BC welfare scheme . However, Chandrababu himself brought this under the Endowments department. Now Jagan wanted to restore the corporation to its original position, which is now being staunchly opposed by the Brahmins.
