AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy appears to be coming down heavily against corruption in his government. He seems to be adopting a zero tolerance approach to corrupt practices. Recently an YSRCP MLA from Rayalaseema demandeded a huge amount from a local industrial unit. The amount was too high for the industry and they brought the issue to the notice of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Jagan's own enquiries showed that the MLA had demanded Rs 18 crore. The MLA is said to have directed the company heads that since they were in the habit of paying the TDP MLAs, they should give double the amount to him. On knowing this, Jagan called up the concerned MLA and severely reprimanded him. He is said to have told the MLA to behave himself and directed him not to harass the industrialists. He is said to have told the MLA to be careful and not to bring a bad name to the party.
Needless to say, the MLA immediately mended his ways and apologised to the industrialist in question. The industrialists reportedly thanked YS Jagan for his timely intervention.
