Congress fortunes may be down especially after the Huzurnagar humiliation, but there seems to be no dearth of claimants for the Telangana PCC chief post. Already there are several contenders. Uttam Kumar Reddy wants to stay on if given an opportunity. Revanth Reddy is waiting eager to claim the throne. Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has his plans for the post.
Sources say if he is not given the post, he might as well leave the Congress and join his brother Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy. There is VH who feels as a BC he has the sole right to become the PCC chief. Now, another MLA has thrown his hat into the ring. He is none other than Sangareddy MLA Turpu Jayaprakash Reddy aka Jagga Reddy.
Jagga Reddy, the sole Congress MLA from the erstwhile Medak district, had tried hard to join the TRS and had even tried to get pally with KCR. But, KCR did not allow him into the party. Left with no option, Jagga Reddy stayed back in the Congress. Today, he wants PCC chief post. Jagga Reddy suggested that the PCC chief should be changed only after the municipal polls and that he too is in the fray.
Jagga Reddy is planning to go to Delhi on November 17 to stake his claim for PCC chief post. Meanwhile, party senior leader and old Telangana hand Ghulam Nabi Azad is all set to visit Telangana soon to discuss the issue of selecting a new PCC chief.
