After a delay in the launch in August due to pandemic, the Jaguar Land Rover India has launched 2020 Land Rover Defender in India today.
The new Defender is powered by a 1,997cc petrol engine that makes 296 hp at 5,500 rpm and 400 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Offered with a 2.0 (litre), four-cylinder BS6 petrol engine, delivering 221 kW (300 PS) and 400 Nm of torque, the Defender is available in two different body styles, the very sporty 90 (3 door) and the versatile 110 (5 door).
The 3-door model price is at Rs 73.98 lakh and 5-door model is Rs 79.94 lakh(ex-showroom). The Defender is available in five variants - Base, S, SE, HSE and First Edition. It will go up against the Jeep Wrangler and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class in India. Deliveries of the Defender 110 will begin shortly while the Defender 90 is still a few months away.
