World's Highest Rail Bridge Above Chenab River In Jammu To Be Completed By 2021

Jammu and Kashmir which was made into two Union Territories after stripping the special status on August 5, 2019, started experiencing developments in the region as new projects are coming.

As part of it, the  Jammu and Kashmir will be getting train connectivity with the rest of the country. A railway bridge will be completed by 2021, which is built over the Chenab river.

It has been reported that the railway bridge is the highest railway bridge in the world and the construction works of the bridge are going on at a rapid phase since last year.

The authorities are closely monitoring construction works of the Railway bridge with an aim to provide train connectivity to the Kashmir region with the rest of India by December 2022.

So far three sections of the bridge were completed, while the construction works of the  Katra-Banihal section which is 111 km is underway and would be completed by December  2022.
