It is now clear as crystal that Congress Party will field its old warhorse K Jana Reddy as its candidate. It is only at his instance that the party has postponed the announcement of the new PCC chief. Jana Reddy had made this request as he has decided to contest the elections.
Meanwhile, there are indications that Jana Reddy has become active once again in Nagarjunasagar constituency. He has started meeting old friends and influential people. He has activated the party workers. Recently, he has toured villages like Tirumalagiri, chelmagudem, Tripuraram and Nidamanuru. He is holding workersâ meets and is attending every small and big programme. The Congress party estimates that the Election Commission has to complete the Tirupati Lok Sabha byelection by March 15. So, there is every possibility that Nagarjunasagar bypolls too would be held along with Tirupati bypoll.
The party is also planning to rope in national leaders. Jana Reddy is also planning to invite all key leaders of the party at the state level. As of now, neighter TRS nor the BJP have decided on their candidate. So, will it be advantage Congress in Nagarjunasagar?
