Are new political formations coming into existence in AP? It appears new alliances are taking shape. Interestingly, the old alliances are breaking up. The BJP-Jana Sena alliance is gradually loosening. At the same time, indications are that the Jana Sena and the TDP are coming closer.
The Jana Sena is clearly showing signs of moving away from the BJP. It is opposing the BJP on the issue of Vizag Steel Plant privatization. Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has also done one-day deeksha on the steel plant issue. On the Amaravati issue too, despite being on one page, both the Jana Sena and the BJP are fighting their battles separately. The BJP is fighting on the issue on its own, while the Jana Sena is fighting separately. They have not come together on the issue. The political analysts feel that Pawan Kalyan is well on course to plow his own furrow.
In the recent local body elections, the TDP and Jana Sena have aligned and got their candidates elected in some places. In the twin Godavari district, they have come together and got better results. Recently, TDP politburo member and former chairperson of the legislative council Mohammad Ahmed said that the TDP would align with the Jana Sena and defeat the YSRCP. He said the situation in AP is similar to that of Bihar and hence the alliance was the need of the times. So, don't be surprised if Jana Sena and the TDP join hands by 2024 elections.
