Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa hasn't been demanding any special treatment for her in Bangalore Central Prison. Instead, She asked the jail authorities to treat her just alike any other inmate during her stay.
After 3 days stay in the Hospital ward in the jail as she complained ill-health, Jayalalithaa has been shifted to VVIP Cell of the prison in women's barrack. She starts her day with morning walk. She will be served breakfast brought by her personal staff, reads Tamil & English newspapers and watches TV along with her associates Sasikala and Illavarasai who were also sentenced to 4 years jail term in the corruption case. She even tasted jail food. Mostly, She prefers milk, biscuits, brown bread and chapatis. Court has permitted her to eat the food which was bought from outside by her personal staff.
Doctors have advised Jayalalithaa to sleep on an iron cot as she is suffering from acute lower back pain. Jail Staff have made the arrangements required.
Jayalalithaa made it clear no one should be allowed to meet her in prison without prior permission. It was because of this reason even CM O Pannerselvam had to wait for a day to meet Jaya in prison after his oath taking ceremony.
