Jayaprada Feels Honoured To Be In Modi Team

As expected, Jayaprada joined Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday. The Saffron Party fielded the Actress against her arch-rival Azam Khan in the Rampur Lok Sabha Constituency.

Jayaprada served as Rampur MP for two consecutive terms (2004, 2009). Upon joining BJP, She claimed to be honoured to work under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. 'I am in a national party where the leader offers utmost importance to the national security,' says the 56-Year-Old Actress.

Recalling how Azam Khan harassed her with morphed pictures and attempts of acid attack, Jayaprada told there where days she doubts if she would be alive the next day. She feels joining BJP is an important moment in her life.

Jayaprada joined TDP way back in 1994 but quit it due to differences with Chandrababu Naidu. Later, She moved into Samajwadi Party and served as MP for 10 years. SP expelled Jayaprada and her mentor Amar Singh in 2012. Following which, Amar Singh floated Rashtriya Lok Manch but failed miserably and not even a single MLA Seat was won in 2012 UP Assembly Polls. Amar Singh and Jayaprada joined Ajit Singh's Rashtriya Lok Dal ahead of 2014 Lok Sabha Polls. Jayaprada had unsuccessfully contested against BJP's Kunwar Bhartendra in Bijnor Constituency in the last elections. Amar Singh continued in RLD even though Jayaprada joined BJP.
