Twitter's new owner Elon Musk is not leaving any stone unturned to bring the changes he wanted to see in the platform. Rolling out the plan to charge $8/month for blue ticks from the users is one such change. The plan came into existence and Twitter is seeing blue ticks for users who can pay the money.
Not just common people, even Jesus Christ got a blue tick on Twitter. Yes, the information is correct. A Twitter user who mentioned his name as Jesus Christ and mentioned his location as Israel received a blue verification. This made the Twiterrati go crazy and give funny reactions.
Seeing a user named Jesus Christ who wrote healer and Carpenter in the bio a fellow user commented saying that as Jesus made his way into Twitter he is waiting to see Santa Claus entering the platform. "I'm still waiting for Santa to come on Twitter.....I just KNOW he's real!" the Twitter user said. "I see no confusion here. The Lord has returneth. Praise be to Saint Musk," said another Twitter user.
Earlier the blue tick accounts were seen as verified users and the information coming from the users used to carry some sort of authentication. But Elon Musk changed the situation. Now everyone who can pay the amount can have the blue tick.
Though users can have the joy of enjoying celebrity-like status with the blue tick verification, the credibility earlier enjoyed by the microblogging site Twitter has now gone for a toss and people are talking about the misuse of the verification by Elon Musk and his leadership.
It is understood that Elon Musk spent a big amount to get the Twitter platform. He wants to get back the money and proposed a few ideas and charging money from the users is one such thing.
After a few considerations, the amount was now cut down to eight dollars per month for users. Besides the blue tick, the users have some perks like being able to undo the tweets and editing the tweets if they find any mistakes. The blue tick verification process is cracking many jokes on Twitter.
