In a shocking turn of events, an alleged gang rape case was unearthed in the posh Jubilee Hills area earlier last week. Since then, the issue has been sending shocking waves. Not just the state, the heat around the issue reached the national capital Delhi, as well as a body that fights for the rights of women, was informed about it.
The National Commission for Women took cognizance of gang-rape issue and directed the investigating cops to report to them what action they took against the accused in the case. The Commission said that the issue is a serious one as a minor girl is a victim.
Rekha Sharma, the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women said that the issue came to their notice and they have asked the state DGP to send a report on the case developments and the action they took so far.
"We took cognizance in the first case where minor was gang-raped in a car by children of political people. The matter is serious because minor girls are being targeted," the Chairperson said while talking to the press.
The Commission also spoke about the videos that went viral on social media and asked the cops to remove them as the identity of the victim would become public. Demanding strict action, the Commission said that it will stand with the victims.
