Bring Law To Punish Judges: Andhra MP

Update: 2018-01-05 11:42 GMT
The comments made by Amalapuram MP Ravindra Babu in Parliament has stirred a controversy. 'Judiciary has reached till the entrance door of Parliament. It won't take much time to enter the Central Hall. We need to maintain transparency in the way Supreme Court functions. Judges should be held responsible and accountability need to be maintained. Only then we could curtail their ego,' he opined.

Ravindra Babu expressed the feeling that Judges will increase their salaries all by themselves one day if the way they are behaving at present is any indication. 'When live telecast of Parliament Proceedings is happening, why not supreme court proceedings? Supreme Court has been pressurizing government to come up with new laws. If failed to do so, It's been treated as contempt of the court. Even MPs can't speak freely outside the Parliament. I am expressing these views in Parliament as they can't be treated as contempt of the court,' claims the Parliamentarian.

The Andhra MP says Constitution recommends sacking of Judges who deliver wrong judgement. 'Are we able to dismiss at least a single Judge so far? A law should be brought to punish Judges who violate Law. Should we punish them or not?,' he questioned Lok Sabha speaker Sumithra Mahajan.
