Kalyan Jewellers Apologises To Bankers

Kalyan Jewellers issued an apology to Bankers for the controversial Ad which projected banking staff in poor light. An assurance has been given by the Jewellery Brand that the TV Commercial would be withdrawn from all media with immediate effect.

Statement issued by Kalyan Jewellers, 'New Ad featuring Amitabh Bachchan in Hindi, Nagarjuna in Telugu & Prabhu in Tamil was a work of fiction and unintended to hurt anyone. The commercial wasn't a reflection of banking employees at large'.

This move came after All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC) complained Kalyan Jewellers Ad created distrust in the banking system among the public. The Association sought apology and immediate removal of the Ad.

In the TVC, An Old Man played by Nagarjuna reaches a bank along with his granddaughter to complain that his pension has been credited twice. When the Bank Manager shows disinterest to rectify the error, The Senior Citizen stresses wrongdoing is unacceptable regardless of who knows. Only then, Manager corrects the mistake happened.
