Veteran Kollywood Actor 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan is all set to make a debut in electoral politics. Kamal Haasan founded Makkal Needhi Maiam in 2018, but he didn't contest in any elections so far.
To make the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections even more interesting, Kamal Haasan will contest from the Coimbatore South constituency. The actor filed his nomination papers on Monday. The BJP had fielded Vanathi Srinivasan in the constituency.
The Universal Hero revealed his total assets, liabilities, and family details during the nomination filing. According to his affidavit, Kamal Haasan has assets that worth Rs 176.9 crores. His total assets comprise immovable assets worth Rs 131.8 crores and movable assets that worth Rs.45.09 Crores. Kamal Haasan has loans worth Rs 49.05 crore under his name.
Kamal Haasan, who is the richest candidate in the forthcoming elections in his affidavit said, he doesn't have any spouses and dependents. There are no cases pending against him. His education qualification is eighth standard.
While the Chief Minister candidate of the MNM alliance is the richest candidate contesting the Tamil Nadu polls, MNM Vice President Mahendran is the second richest person to contest the polls. He declared combined family assets worth nearly Rs 175 crores.
