Actor-turned-politician and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan has cleared all the airs about him contesting the upcoming 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections while addressing a political rally.
The Universal Hero said, he will contest the 2021 Assembly elections and the constituency from where he will contest in the elections will be announced very soon.
He made these statements while addressing a political party in the temple city Madurai on Sunday. Kamal started his four-day political campaign for the election on Sunday. After Madurai, Kamal Haasan is expected to address the political rallies at Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, and Kanniyakumari districts.
He started his political campaign in Madurai by touching on a sensitive topic. He pitched the idea to make Madurai, the second capital of Tamil Nadu. He said it was the idea of Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran to make Madurai, the second capital and if MNM comes to power, they will make this happen.
Kamal Haasan floated his Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) party in 2018 and contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. But none of the candidates managed to win the elections.
Many parties like MNM, BJP, and Rajinikanth's soon-to-be-announced party are hoping to take advantage of the upcoming 2021 Assembly elections as the elections will be held without big faces like late Karunanidhi and late Jayalalithaa.
These parties are thinking that this is the only chance for them to create an impact and win as many seats as possible.
