Kamal's Epic U-Turn After Loose Talk On Kashmir

Update: 2019-02-18 12:44 GMT
Kamal Haasan invited the wrath of Indians by questioning why an Opinion Poll wasn't conducted in Kashmir to settle the dispute between two nations. When his opinion was sought on the terror attack which killed 40 Jawans on February 14th, The Actor questioned: 'Why plebiscite wasn't held in Kashmir? What are they afraid of? Nothing can be done now. Didn't they divide the nation'.

There was a severe backlash on Ulaganayagan following these remarks. Today, The 63-Year-Old issued a clarification: 'Plebiscite is no longer relevant. Kashmir is an integral part of India'.

According to Kamal, Line Of Control (LoC) will be under control if politicians in India and Pakistan behave in a responsible manner. 'Why do soldiers die? Why should they die? No soldier would die if both the nations behave properly. My comment on plebiscite was in the context of column I had written for a magazine on Kashmir issue,' he opined.

Kamal Haasan is getting ready to contest in all the 40 Lok Sabha Seats in Tamil Nadu. What will be the impact of his controversial remarks on the poll prospects?
