Update: 2020-12-14 11:54 GMT
In what it could be a piece of shocking news for the opposition Congress party, a senior leader indirectly hinted at leaving the politics while addressing a rally on Sunday.

Congress veteran and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath categorically dropped a bomb of leaving politics, giving a mini heart-attack to the Congress party.

Mr. Nath said he has no greed for any post and he is ready to take some rest. He said, he had achieved a lot already and he is ready to stay home and take some rest.

It has to be noted that, his indirect hint came a month after poor defeat in the Madhya Pradesh by-elections. The Congress party lost the elections to BJP cheaply.

Kamal Nath has been facing severe criticism since the by-election loss. Many senior leaders and young leaders have stressed the Congress party to replace him with another leader to give the party a fresh breath.

His hint coming amid these developments gained a lot of significance as the Congress veteran is planning to have a peaceful quit from politics without much backlash from the party leaders allegedly.

Kamal Nath is currently holding the positions of Madhya Pradesh state Congress chief and the leader of opposition in the Vidhan Sabha. Loss in Madhya Pradesh put him under criticism.

Experts cite that, if he quits from the party, his positions will be given to the young leaders within the party.

Kamal Nath leaving the politics quill surely leaves a heavy toll on the Congress party which is in one of the toughest situations. Senior leaders are criticizing the party for the poor leadership skills of the party. Veteran leaders like Nath leaving the party will make the party even weak.
