Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is gearing up for the release of her first Pan-India film Thalaivii, which is the biopic of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, popularly called as Amma by her fans and supporters in the state. The biopic will have a release on the 10th of September.
The recently released trailer of the film had created a positive buzz for the film and Kangana Rangana has been facing applause for her portrayal of Jayalalithaa. At the trailer launch event, Kangana who played the titular role had recalled the experiences she had in the journey.
"Before doing the film, I didn't know about Jaya Amma. I had worked hard for the film. We didn't go for any cinematic liberties as the people in Tamil Nadu know about her a lot. I gave my best in getting into the skin of the character," Kangana Ranaut said.
She showered praises on director AL Vijay and called him a talented director. Saying that he has clarity on his job, Kangana Ranaut also spoke highly about the producers for sticking to the theatre release even though the OTTs have approached them.
Kangana Ranaut expressed her dissatisfaction over the refusal of the Multiplex Association for the screening of the biopic. While we are working on the survival of the theatres, they are not working with us. She alleged that groupism is there in the industry which will not help the industry.
