Kathi Mahesh opined people kept raising doubts over the authenticity of the allegations made by Sri Reddy just because she hasn't revealed any proofs to back her claims until recently. He, however, says everyone understood the pain budding Actress has underwent after watching the intimate pictures shared by her.
At the same time, Kathi found fault with Movie Artiste Association (MAA) for boycotting Sri Reddy instead of trying to address the issue. 'MAA should have condemned the controversial comments or kind of protests staged by Sri Reddy. Whereas, Resorting to social boycott is unacceptable. MAA have every right to decide who should be its members. But, Passing an order that none of MAA Members should work with Sri Reddy isn't right. When she is crying foul due to lack of offers, How could MAA take such a stand?,' he questioned.
The Film Critic felt MAA should have used the allegations made by Sri Reddy as an opportunity to built a preventive mechanism to tackle casting couch in the Industry. He says, MAA and Film Chamber have the responsibility to prevent exploitation of women in the Industry. A Committee should have been formed based on Supreme Court order & Guidelines set by International Labour Organisation over Work Place Harassment. Any such measure would have made people respect MAA much more.
