Kalvakuntla Kavitha daughter of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has won Nizamabad MLC election with 728 votes. She registered a landslide victory in the election with a huge majority.
Out of 823 votes, BJP got 56 votes, Congress polled 29 votes and there are 10 invalid votes. The bypoll to the Legislative Council from Nizamabad constituency was held on Friday.
Kavitha had lost the Nizamabad Parliamentary elections to BJP's D Arvind in 2019. After this election, it is evident that Kavitha will be playing a more active role in politics. She has become the fourth member of the K Chandrashekar Rao's family to be actively associated in politics.
