Kavitha Now Wants To Enter Into Legislative Council

Update: 2019-07-13 09:36 GMT
If you thought that KCR's daughter dear Kavitha Kalwakuntla has remained silent after the shock defeat in Nizamabad, then you are wrong. Kavitha is not inactive. She has been working hard to maintain all the skill development centres that she has opened. She has also tried to re-activate the Telangana Jagrithi, which was quite inactive during the last three years. But, most importantly, she is trying to re-enter the portals of powers somehow or the other.

Kavitha has been lobbying hard to get into the Legislative Council of Telangana. She wants to become an MLC first and then a minister next. With the disqualification of the two TRS MLCs who joined the Congress, there are two vacancies in the council and Kavitha wants to contest from one of the seats and enter into the council. She is said to have taken up  the issue  with her father and brother, who is the party's working president.

Insiders say that KCR has decided to give one seat to Gutta Sukhender Reddy, who had joined the party from the Congress. He has been asked to opt out of the MLA elections with a promise of an MLC seat. So, KCR may have to oblige him. Similarly, KCR has plans to induct his OSD Deshapathi Srinivas, who has been a loyal soldier of the TRS.  If Kavitha wants a ticket, then one of these two will have to opt out. Once Kavitha enters the house, she would play an active role in the party and the government.
