The usage of electronic equipment is the need of the hour in any field. After the electronic equipment came into existence the work became easy. However, the electronic equipment also has some issues. The machines that were introduced for casting votes without having ballot boxes Electronic Voting Machine is one such upgrade that is facing severe criticism.
Though the machines are being used for a few decades now, the criticism has turned intense over the past eight years. Post-2014, we have been hearing that EVMs can be tampered with. Critics attack BJP alleging that it won the 2014 polls with the same strategy.
Telangana Chief Minister KCR who wants to enter national politics and bring an alternative front to the Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress is said to be in plans to wage a battle against the EVMs. Reports say that he might take support from the opposition parties in this battle.
Earlier many leaders tried their best in waging a battle against the EVM tampering issue. However, none of them succeeded and we have to see if the Telangana Chief Minister would succeed in this attack or not. BJP's former ally Chandrababu Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's fierce critic Mamata Banerjee also tried to attack the saffron party but could not see much success.
Though the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made a big noise on the EVMs and tried to push the saffron party towards severe criticism, they did not see big success.
Now Telangana Chief Minister KCR is focusing on the same. Given the seriousness KCR is showing to enter national politics, we might see the TRS chief putting in serious efforts in coming down seriously on the BJP on the EVM tampering issue. As he cannot win the battle alone, he wants support from other parties and the opposition parties might give their support.
On the other hand, we have to see if KCR would pull off a difficult stint that Chandrababu Naidu and Mamata Banerjee could not do. Only time has the answer to this and we may have to wait for a few more days.
