KCR clearly is the past master in the art of setting up a narrative. With his second Delhi tour in a month, he is trying to put the Telangana BJP in a spot. He wants to show that he is quite close to the BJP central leadership and the state unit does not matter to him. He also wants to show that he and the BJP have some kind of understanding.
The real aim is to weaken the BJP case in the poll-bound Huzurabad, where a BJP victory would have serious consequences for the TRS. So, he is trying to play a mind-game. The fact is the CM is attending a meeting of the CMs of the Maoist affected states. The meeting will discuss the nitty gritty of the strategies aimed at tackling Maoist menace. Other things would not be discussed. He is not going to have a one-on-one meeting with the prime minister. Yet, KCR is using the optics to create confusion.
Interestingly, he is also meeting the Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Shekhawat to discuss the Krishna water dispute. The second important meeting he has is with Piyush Goel and he would discuss the issue of paddy procurement. The Centre has fixed a limit of 60 million tonnes. The Telangana Government wants relaxation in this. So, practically KCR would not be discussing anything political during his stay. But, the media and the TRS machinery is trying to position this meeting as if that has got to do with the state BJP.
