KCR sanctions Subsidy for Jerusalem Pilgrimage

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao promised to offer subsidy for Christians who undertake pilgrimage to Jerusalem. He made this announcement at the Christmas celebrations at Nizam College Grounds. 'Archbishop Tumma Bala informed Me about his two wishes - Budget for Jerusalem Pilgrimage & Christian Bhavan. We will sanction Subsidy for Jerusalem Pilgrimage. I will ensure Christian Bhavan will be constructed in Hyderabad by next Christmas,' he promised.

KCR made budget allocation of Rs 10 crore for the construction and repair works of churches. He pledged not to tolerate any discrimination against the Christians.

Telangana Government organized Christmas Feast in as many as 308 churches and 200 of them are in Hyderabad city itself. Christmas Gift Packs were offered to 2.5 lakh poor families.

KCR presented Awards to Christian Missionaries which have been doing great service in the field of health, education and social welfare. On this occasion, CM declared Hindu-Muslim-Christians are like a family and his government would safeguard their rights.
