KCR Says Police should Focus On Preventing Atrocities Against Dalits And Women

Amid escalating outrage against the alleged Hathras gang-rape incident, TRS supremo, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao called atrocities against Dalits as unfortunate.

K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is popularly known as KCR chaired a high-level meeting with the officials of police and forest departments at Pragathi Bhavan and appreciated the efforts of police personnel in maintaining the law and order in the state.

Taking further, he said, the police personnel should be more focused while taking the preventive measures to prevent any unforeseen incidents against Dalits.

He opined that it's the responsibility of the state police to prevent the attacks on the weaker sections by the stronger sections and added that irrespective of the designation, the police personnel in the state should do friendly policing and respect every citizen.

During the meeting, the CM directed the forest department officials to take stringent action against people who rob the forest wealth and said, the civilian police and forest personnel should work hand in hand to root out smuggling.

Talking about the police department, KCR said the pension settlement of the retiring Police personnel should be done on the very same day and the police personnel who became a crucial part of the department should be dropped in the department, vehicles on the retirement day.
