TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao resigned as Medak MP ahead of taking oath as the first chief minister of Telangana on June 2nd.
It is known that KCR got elected to Assembly from Gajwel and Lok Sabha from Medak constituencies. The Chief minister-designate who was in Delhi Yesterday for Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony sent his resignation to the Secretary General of Lok Sabha through party leader & MP B Vinod Kumar. After this formality, The Secretary General spoke to KCR over phone to confirm that his resignation has been accepted.
KCR resigned as MP thrice until now. After being elected as Karimnagar MP in 2004, he resigned in 2006 for T-statehood and won with a record 2.5 lakh majority. He once again resigned in 2008 but this time his majority dropped drastically. In 2009, KCR choose Mahabubnagar and won with a thin margin. He moved to Medak in 2014 and resigned again but this time its for becoming CM.
