After completing the district committees, Chief Minister and TRS boss KCR is now working on constituting the state committee of the party. His focus, insiders say, is on the youths. He is said to be scouting for young faces with potential in the party and is trying to promote them in the party ranks.
Interestingly the present state committee has 67 members and many of them are quite old and several of them are actually not seen on the ground. KCR is said to be unhappy that many of the state committee members are using this position for their personal advancement. Then there is another set, which loiters around the TV studios and the party office in Telangana Bhavan only to grab attention.
Sources say that till now, KCR has given key posts only to MLAs. But, he is now said to be thinking of promoting the youths in the party so that they can stand as bulwark in support of KTR, when he is made the chief minister. KCR is said to be looking at leaders like Kaushik Reddy. He is said to have convinced several seniors to make way for the young guns from their family. Thus, KTR would not face any generation-related issues when he helms the party.
Sources said that there would be 15 secretaries and 20 joint secretaries at the state level. These posts would be given to young leaders from various districts. KCR is also said to be worried that the youth are being lured by both Revanth Reddy and Bandi Sanjay and the TRS is lagging behind in attracting the youth.
