Kejriwal offers 1 crore compensation for slain cop

Hours after Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal assumed office in the national capital, he has come up with surprising decisions .He transferred Chief of Delhi Jal Board Debashree Mukherjee on Saturday and the same day eight other IAS officers were also shunted out.

Today kejriwal announced a big amount of compensation for a constable family. The Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi has announced a compensation of Rs 1 crore to the family of the police constable killed by the liquor mafia on Saturday.

The constable and two other police personnel were badly beaten up by the liquor mafia during a raid on Saturday, the day when Arvind Kejriwal and his six ministers assumed office. Kejriwal, who did not attend work on Monday, wrote a letter to the constable's wife, apologising for not being able to visit her because he is unwell.

He said in the letter, "The Delhi government, honouring your husband's martyrdom, is offering you Rs. 1 crore as a mark of respect. The Delhi government and I are determined to help you and your family in every possible way."

Delhi Government officials said the compensation announced by the Chief Minister was the highest for such cases in recent times.
