Kerala Considering AP Disha Act For Women's Safety

Update: 2019-12-14 12:26 GMT
A Minister from Kerala said they are thinking to look into the Andhra Pradesh Criminal Law(Amendment) Bill 2019, which was named after Disha as 'AP Disha Act' and AP Special Court for Offences against Women and Children.

Kerala Minister for Health and Social Welfare K.K. Shailaja said that they have no issues looking into the new law passed at the Andhra Assembly.

"What must be noted is that, in Kerala, now itself the laws are very tough and its only a question of implementation. But now that Andhra Pradesh has passed a new one, we have no issues in looking that up and see what it offers. It will be done and then will see,"  she said.

The law which was passed last week states that those who are guilty in a rape case will be hanged and the judgement in the case will be given within 21 days if there is proper evidence.
